My short film

 

 

Finally, I finished my short film. Although there are some shortage and mistake in this film, but it can still express my idea. Next time, I hope I can have more time shooting enough material. At the same time, the prophase work also need to be prepared fully, after finish the script, I need to consider how to tell the story, the story board and picture composition. Next time, I think I can improve my skills.

 

 

Editing my short film

 

In recent days, I was editing my short film at school. It was not easy as I imagine before. I want to use fast rhythm to express time and space changes, but I was only shooting for one day, the material is less than I want, so I only can use different ways to make these parts more useful. Another difficult thing is the control temple of music. I tried different music as the background music, the slow rhythm music and the fast seed music with drum sound. Finally I choice of the fast speed music to match this short film.

 

In the shooting time, I let the actress stand in the middle, background to keep conversion. Because of the shooting position and size are different, so in the editing process, I need to adjust the position to make the actress keep in the middle. This cut cost me a lot of time, but finally it looks good.

 

About the process of shooting pictures partial blue, I used premiere to adjust the brightness of images, and changed some blue and green colour balance to make the final pictures looks better.

Shooting for my short film

Yesterday, I was shooting outside, I asked Shupeng Yuan for my camera man and Wan Zhang for my actress. According to my shooting plan, firstly, I chose the inside of Victoria Center to shooting different types of watch to present the passing of time. Then, we went to the park shooting different scenery. I put a character in the center and choose different background to show the different time and space conversion. We use one day to shooting for my film, the time was quite limit, because we need to shoot many different background. During the time that close to the evening, the sun is not very enough, so the pictures in camera look a little partial blue. So we need to adjust the white balance, but the effect is not very good. I will adjust the tonal at the editing time to make these cuts looks more unified.

Make a short stop-motion animation

 

I am starting to make a short animation which is including in my short video. In this short animation I used camera to make a Stop-Motion Animation. The protagonists are eggs. At the beginning, the lights was a little bit dark, I used Photoshop to balance the brightness and colour gradation. Then I used After Effect to add some cool blue spotlights to make the final images have some stage feeling.

This book hasn't use many colour theories, but use all sorts of interesting experiment teaching method. Most of the ways in this book is to contrast different colour papers that can work out many different answers.It uses some tools, basic can use drawing software instead of, what I used is Corel, is very convenient and the effect is basically the same. I can try the experiments while I am reading and follow the steps. It’s very interesting like doing games and I can get different inspiration.

Artistic conception, a strong Chinese tonal language, is to use some simple images to describe a story.

 

 

In this film – Life Of Pi, Ang lee use film language to present an artistic conception story. The film using the advanced 3D technology to made a fantastic romantic world, the visual images of this film is amazing, however, this visual effect is different from a lot of American movies (such as Avatar, Transformers), the difference is that it is not more poetic, more beautiful, but it is the essence of the artistic conception. In the movie makes dream wonderful ocean, fine to beard the tiger, luminous whales, weasel island, all the 3D have tried to create fantasy scenes.
